*CLOSED* Giveaway!

{via}
*This is Giveaway is now CLOSED*
Hello!

Okay so I am so excited!  The other day I was on my phone checking up on my blogs and came across Sew Mama Sew!'s Giveaway Day which starts today.  Well at first I thought I'd love to do that but have nothing to give. Yet I really, really wanted to give something.  I love to give gifts.  I mean I'm already planning Christmas gifts for next year.

So yes, I came up with something to giveaway so before you leave to get nachos...here is what I have for you:

A knitting bag! (okay you use it for something other than knitting)

Not just one but 2!

Two of you will be so lucky to receive one of these...why don't you take a gander at what I have for you.
Lining of the Little Chickie Bag

Pocket on the inside of bag

Lining of Pink & Brown Bag

Such a pretty little pocket.

Okay so, I love to make these bags for my knitting stuff (well, I like to make them for other people since I don't actually have one for myself).  Reasons why I love this pattern:

-Holds shape, I used heavy weight interfacing
-Closure is drawstring, I like this because zippers & Velcro make me when they're near my yarn...I can't be the only one.
-Drawstring closure also makes nice handles for carrying and knitting at the same time.
-Completely washable (I have five kids, messes are my life right now)

What you want to know:
-Yes, I will ship internationally
- Post a comment below and tell me what is the best gift you've ever received, it doesn't have to be a Christmas gift and which bag is your favorite
-Please include your email address
-One comment per person, if you need to make changes go back and delete your original comment
-I will leave this open until 11 pm Pacific Standard Time on December 17th
-On the 18th I will select 2 winners via random selection and post the results here.
-Good Luck!

  6. My best gift by far has to be my kids! God has blessed us with three little ones (and one more on the way!). I really like either bag - whichever one is fine if I happen to win! Thanks for the chance!

  7. I could do a little brown-nosing here and say that the best gift I ever got was a journal that my dear friend gave me with a personalized note to me on the first few pages, telling me all her favorite memories that we've shared. But that would just be cheating. So I'll say that my favorite gift was a life sized cut-out of Orlando Bloom as Legolas. He has yielded much entertainment by hiding him around corners and luring unsuspecting victims to walk around said corner and have their socks scared off :)
P.S. I LOVE that little pink and brown bag almost as much as I love it's maker :)

  8. Best Christmas gift ever? I'm not sure, but I really was excited when I got a Nintendo for Christmas from my Parents. I was 10 I believe!

  9. I like both of the bags so you would have to suprise me =D I cant remember a specific gift but I remember something nice someone did for me. My family had the flu and a friend drove the 40 minutes to my house and brought me popsicles and ginger ale. It was a wonderful suprise. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

  10. Both your bags are lovely. As for my favorite gift, it has to be the love of my 5 children and all my grand-children. They are everything to me. I like seeing that you enjoy sewing & knitting as much as I do. I have found both very relaxing hobbies over the years.
    Merry Christmas

  11. Great bags! I have received three "best gifts" - my dh, and each of my two children. Without them, nothing else I received would mean anything.

  15. The best gift I got. . . that's tough, since I'm a mom I'm always giving the best gifts (har-har) I think it would have to be any gift that my husband puts a lot of thought into.

  16. Natalie Morton Julzzma@aol.com

Seeing all the things you create has inspired me to learn how to knit during Christmas break!
I love the striped bag (the second one)
And my favorite gift was for Christmas 2002, my grandma gave me a family heirloom. A beautiful cross that was her grandmothers (marquis gold). My grandma died 2 months later, and when she gave me that cross, it was the last time I saw her which makes it so much more special to me.

  19. The best gift I ever received was when I was 10 and it was from my aunt. She gave me a box of misc. crafting supplies! It was so big and so full. I'm sure it was stuff she no longer wanted from her own stash of supplies but I loved it!

  20. The best gift I've gotten was from some family friends. My birthday is Valentine's day, and on my 16th birthday they made a heart out of candles in the snow and surprised me with presents. It was very sweet.

  25. Those are adorable bags - and I HATE velcro when I'm crocheting. It doesn't matter how careful I am, it always makes a mess!

My favorite gift . . . well, I could be all sweet and say my kids, which is true, but not after a day like today . . . so I'll say the Silhouette cutter that's coming for Christmas this year!

    ReplyDelete
  26. My best gift ever was from my cousin. I don't know if she will remember this, but she was 8 and started sending me letters and we would correspond like pen pals...back and forth the letters went. Then I got a small package one day from her and inside was a letter and a watch she had made from plastic canvas. It was pink and I have since lost it, but have fondly thought about that watch over the years. My cousin, Buffy (yes you!!), is so talented..even at a younger age she was!! My email is bishgo@telus.net...just in case I win!

  27. Yes, your drawstring closures are perfect for knitting projects! I will never, never make a knitting bag with velcro on it. Bleck! Snaps are okay, but the drawstring keeps those needles in the bag! Thanks for your clever giveaway.

My favorite gift is time with my family. Time and relaxation seem to be the things I always want (and receive).

  28. I looked and looked and couldn't decide which one I liked best...maybe the little chickie bag! They are both precious! A gift? My hubby surprised me with an E Reader for no reason awhile back! That was FUN! He hid it...even more fun! Thanks! ♥

My favorite gift was being able to travel to Missouri to visit for a week and a half with my mother this Thanksgiving. She is the most precious person I've ever known and at the age of 85 she still makes an impact on all of those around her. She has hospice care now because she is dying of congestive heart failure and a rare form of cancer. What a blessing it was to have that much time with her! I will never ever forget this holiday season.

  60. One of the best Christmas presents I ever got was the Fisher-Price barn, way back in 1970. I was sick - sick sick sick - and just lay on the couch, miserable, not wanting anything to do with Christmas. My older brothers opened my presents for me. Suddenly I heard it: "MOO". Huh? Then again - "MOO!". What was that? "MOO MOO MOO MOO MOO MOO MOO"! I sat up and my brothers brought the barn over to me - the doors, when opened, made a mooing sound. I was in love! I played with the barn and animals all morning long, and Mom was happy to have me up and occupied so she could get on with cooking Christmas dinner. :) We still re-tell the barn story now as adults!

My favorite gift was an Easter basket my grandma made me. It had bunny shapes all around it :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. I like the second bag. My best gift? Seasons passes to the on-stage productions the local theater produced. The kids and I would get all dressed up like we were going someplace special, and we'd stop and grab a cheap dinner and go see the plays they had picked out "Beauty and the Beast" or "Willie Wonka". Those seasons passes were like having Christmas all over several times during the year. dmj53(at)hotmail(dot)com

  68. I can't decide which bag I like better, I'd be filling either of them with knitting faster than you can say 'Hey presto'. Best Christmas gift? My favorite Christmas gift was definitely the ring that husband proposed with. It was his grandmother's ring set and it's scary how similar it is to a ring I LOVED that I had found online.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Oh wow I can so use this bag. I've just started knitting and this would be such a great way to stay organized. The best gift I ever received was a Bernina Sewing machine from my hubby one Christmas. It was the biggest surprise, as I had never asked for one, but he overheard me telling someone that I thought they were the best sewing machines around. He's a great guy ;-)

  78. I love both bags! Right now, I am carrying my small knitting around in a tiny reusable shopping bag that I was given via one of the schools I go to...and it has a velcro closure that my yarn is always getting stuck on.

I have several treasured gifts, although not all were received at Christmas time. I have a necklace my brother gave me...the paper at the time said it was "St. Brendan's Cross" SB was supposed to be the patron saint of seafarers. It is currently in need of repair :-( Another treasured gift is a bracelet given to me by my brother on my college graduation. These gifts are most special to me b/c my brother has now passed away and I know that he truly took the time to choose gifts that he knew I would love.

    ReplyDelete
  79. The best gifts are the Christmas ornaments I still use that were made by my kids while in grade school. I would enjoy having either bag.

  85. Hi there, beautiful bags! Thanks for the chance to win! My favorite is the pink and brown. Just gorgeous. My best gift ever was from my husband on our first anniversary. You are traditionally supposed to give paper. So he made me 75 paper cranes out of different colors and patterns and arranged them in a heart shape with our initials in the center. I walked in the room and it took my breath away. I asked him why 75 and he said that's how long he wanted to be married to me and after that we could decide whether or not to re-up the commitment. Now, tell me. Is that not the sweetest thing you have ever heard in your life???!!! :)

  92. The nicest gift I ever received: a friend kindly donated the entire cost of my trip to Australia in 2005 for a medical laureate college group so I didn't need to do any donor diving. I was so grateful for that b/c I was finishing up a tough class, working full time, planning my sister's wedding, and prepping for another trip right before that, and trying to start studying for the MCAT. Not having that stress made for such a great trip; Australia was amazing.

My grandmother and I used to cook together and hubby found all her recipes, scanned them into a computer and bound them in a beautiful book for me. We had the chance to explain to the boys that sometimes mommy cries because she is so happy. :)

    Thanks for the chance!

  110. Best gift would have to be my fist child, who was born just before Christmas. My favorite is the brown and pink one. Thanks for the chance to win!

  113. My granddaughter tends to walk off with my bags so I can never have too many. The very best gift I ever got was a dollhouse made just for me by my grandparents. My husband and I look forward to giving the same to our granddaughters.

  116. I'm a bag addict! I love the coral bag. Best gift. My mom got me a jewelry box once, it was nice, but not up to her usual giftyness. Only a couple of days later did I notice the beautiful earrings- that are to this day- still my favorite.

  117. My best gifts were probably the toys I received when a kid. Bags like this are great for knitting projects. I like the "plaid" one the best

  119. Both the bags are great, but the brown and pink one is amazing!!!

The best gift I've ever received was a cross-stitched family tree from my mom. It's a beautiful piece of work that took her over a year!

    Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!

  120. I love the bags, I think I like the 2nd one best, it is hard to make a decision. The best gift I ever received was on Christmas Eve in 1971, my husband gave me my engagement ring, all wrapped up and it was a big surprise. I said yes of course.

  122. i love both bags, but mybe my favourite is the second one. i learned from my mother alwys to keep each knitting project in its own bag so we are always looking for nice bags to use. right now we are both very busy knitting clothes for my first baby who is due in march, so all our bags are being used.
my favourite present has got to be the news i was pregnant, i found out just a few days after my birthday and the baby will be born around my husband's birthday so it's a present for both of us :)
please take the time to head over to my blog to participate in my giveaway too. i didn't make it to the list in time and it's something small, but there's still plenty of time and there are so few participants that you might actually have a chance to win something :)

  123. I like the second one!
The best gift I ever received...has to be a wooden box with a scripture engraved on top from my now husband but then boyfriend. It came at the perfect time and encouraged me right when I needed it.

  127. What great bags for carrying nachos! Kidding... I really like both. Love the basket print on the interior of the one. If you're making me decide I'd go with number 2( plaid with brown interior) only because I've heard you might take away my nachos if I don't make a decision. The best gift I received (from my mother) was a handmade crocheted lace tablecloth that my great grandma had made. I didn't even know it had existed. It was a wonderful gift to connect to her since I had never met her.
    Happy holidays!

  131. Well, since I'm partial to all things "birdy" I would choose the "Little Chicky Bag". Fave gift? A little blue music box/ clock that you wound up and a ballerina danced on the hour to a Mozart song. sigh..still miss it to this day!
