Happy 4th of July!

Well if blogger does what it is supposed to this post should go up Monday morning.  I really don't have any reason to believe that it won't but still I like to post a disclaimer from time to time...makes me feel more important than I am (to have a disclaimer that is).

For as long as I can remember the 4th has been my favorite holiday.  I remember as a young girl watching the fireworks at the park with my parents or when that wasn't possible watching them on tv.  When I met Husband...back when he was Boyfriend then Fiance... I met his family for the first time over the 4th of July weekend.  Getting back on that train was the hardest thing I ever did...but that is a story for another day ;)

Now that I have kids, holidays are different.  For many years participating in holiday festivities has been limited because of nap schedules and now food issues.  However, still I try my best to do something.  This year will be no different.  We will be headed up to the lake to join friends who are really more like family to us and enjoy good food, conversation and hopefully a little sun (the weather around here has been fickle...though Husband says the weather should be what I consider ideal for the holiday).  I'm hoping to get out on a boat a few times, eat way too much and cuddle with my baby in an upstairs room to help him go to sleep in the afternoon.  Of course I'll bring my knitting along cause you just never know when a few moments will pop up that will allow you to knit and purl a few rows.

For now I'll leave you with some lovely pics.

Happy 4th of July to you all!  May we all celebrate our independence not just in the political and governmental sense but for those us saved by the grace of Jesus, our independence from the weight of sin!
