Summertime Busyness!

This week is Vacation Bible School (VBS) at our church, which I must say is my absolute favorite week of the summer.  Now, some of you might be groaning at it but I'll tell you why it is my favorite.  I organize and set up the Hospitality Room, which is basically a place filled with yummy goodies for the workers.  I have coffee, fruits & veggies along with sugary confections.  It really is a joy for me.  First, because it reminds me of the lovely woman who did the hospitality room when I was helping in VBS as a Jr High and High School student.  Second, I love the opportunity it gives me to chat with a variety of people aging from 7th grade to retired grandparents.  Third, it gives me a chance to knit for a couple hours a day.

Today the subject matter ranged from childbirth to grace and forgiveness to behavioral therapy.  Really, the topics mentioned are quite vast and it all centers around a cup of coffee and some goodies and that all the workers are there to help children learn more about Jesus.  I love it!  Especially when I get that much needed baby break.

However, VBS is just the beginning of my crazy summer schedule so I thought I should leave you all a lovely note to let you know that I probably won't be posting nearly as much in the next few weeks.  We've just hit our summer moving and grooving and the next few weeks are exceptionally packed.

So if I don't post a lot please forgive me.  I promise to post when I get a moment or when I finish one of the 100 projects I have going on right now!

So I was just browsing the introwebs as I like to call them and ran across a blog where she had answered a question that started with each letter of the alphabet and I knew I just had to do it too!  I love for you all too know me a little better and well it was really fun.

I. Instruments you play: Piano & Violin...in middle school I played the alto saxophone and the oboe and I prolly could again if given enough time to practice. Also I play the radio quite well ;)

O. Overnight hospital stays: Not for me, but when my kids were sick I spent many a night in the hospital

Okay so I am so excited!  The other day I was on my phone checking up on my blogs and came across Sew Mama Sew!'s Giveaway Day which starts today.  Well at first I thought I'd love to do that but have nothing to give. Yet I really, really wanted to give something.  I love to give gifts.  I mean I'm already planning Christmas gifts for next year.

Okay so, I love to make these bags for my knitting stuff (well, I like to make them for other people since I don't actually have one for myself).  Reasons why I love this pattern:

-Holds shape, I used heavy weight interfacing
-Closure is drawstring, I like this because zippers & Velcro make me when they're near my yarn...I can't be the only one.
-Drawstring closure also makes nice handles for carrying and knitting at the same time.
-Completely washable (I have five kids, messes are my life right now)

Wow! Harder than I thought it would be...

I suppose it is best to start with introductions, though most of you who will read this will know me already. I am Buffy and I’m a believer in our risen Lord Jesus Christ. I have been married for just over eight years and we have four beautiful children and one more coming this spring.

My desire is to uplift and encourage the many Christian parents in cyberspace. Especially those who are struggling along with my husband and I in raising more than the average size family and those with the added blessing of special needs children. I have been to more doctors’ visits this month than I care to count and know I am not alone.

Besides just uplifting, I also want to share the joys of knitting and the ability it has to de-stress a chaotic life by its pure simplicity. For we are all created by a Passionate God for a purpose we are all passionate about.
